Improvements to the Intersection of U.S. 311/N.C. 14 and Kings Highway

Project ID: U5893
Construction Year: 2026
State: NC Counties: Rockingham

Entity: North Carolina Department of Transportation

The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is proposing a project to improve traffic flow at the intersection of U.S. 311/N.C. 14 (South Van Buren Road) and Kings Highway in Eden.

The proposed improvements, known as Project U-5893, will span 0.85 miles from Stadium Drive to south of Arbor Lane, and 0.5 miles between Pierce and Madison Streets. The goal is to address current traffic issues and prepare the intersection for future growth and increased traffic volume.

These changes are necessary to ensure the intersection can handle the rising traffic from ongoing development in the area, ultimately improving the flow and safety for drivers.

Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
