Intersection Improvements at NC 210 and SR 1560 (Watts Landing Road)

Project ID: R5899
Construction Year: 2028
State: NC Counties: Pender

Entity: North Carolina Department of Transportation

The NC 210/Watts Landing intersection project has changed its scope: instead of a roundabout, it will now feature a new traffic signal, dedicated turn lanes, and a multi-use path. This upgrade has an estimated construction cost of $4.7 million. The town is actively collaborating with NCDOT to secure additional funding, with of the total already allocated for potential path amenities. A critical change involves the intersection's previous "enhancement," as the proposed improvements will require relocating most of the existing landscaping, including several semi-mature live oaks (averaging a 30-inch caliper).

Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
