This document outlines the progress of the I-73 South project's initial phases. Construction plans for Phase 1, the segment running from I-95 to US Route 501, are in the final stages. All right-of-way acquisitions for this portion have been secured. For Phase 2, which will extend the interstate highway from US 501 to the Marion/Horry County line, the right-of-way plans are complete and acquisitions are nearing completion. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
