Widening of SR 371/Post Road from SR 9 to CR 5/Kelly Mill Road

Project ID: 0006915
Construction Year: 2026
State: GA Counties: Forsyth

Entity: Georgia Department of Transportation

The Post Road widening project in west Forsyth County will expand a 3.64-mile segment from SR 9 to Kelly Mill Road to four lanes with a raised median. Designed to improve traffic flow and safety, the plan includes dedicated sidewalks and urban shoulders for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as an investigation into intersection and access controls. This local infrastructure project, which is expected to take 36 months to complete, is the first part of a larger concept, with this phase focusing specifically on the SR 9 to Kelly Mill Road segment. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
