The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is planning to widen Evans Street/Old Tar Road, a key connector between Greenville and Winterville in Pitt County.
The project will expand the road to four lanes, extending from the intersection of Cooper Street and Worthington Road in Winterville to N.C. 43/U.S. 264A (Greenville Boulevard) in Greenville. This widening is expected to help reduce traffic congestion and enhance safety along the route. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
