Widening of SR 60 from SR 136 to CR 158/Yellow Creek Road
Project ID: 132610
Construction Year: 2030
State: GA Counties: Hall
Entity: Georgia Department of Transportation
In a major effort to improve safety and reduce traffic congestion, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has launched a significant road widening and reconstruction project on State Route 60 (SR 60) in Hall County. This project will transform a 2.6-mile stretch of the highway, converting the existing two-lane rural road into a more efficient four-lane urban section.
The SR 60 Hall County widening will extend from just north of the intersection of SR 136 to Yellow Creek Road. The upgraded roadway will feature a 20-foot raised median to enhance traffic flow and safety. Additionally, the existing culvert at Squirrel Creek will be extended to accommodate the new road width. Drivers can expect traffic to be maintained throughout the construction process. This vital transportation infrastructure project is a key step in providing a safer and more efficient commute for residents and travelers in northern Hall County. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
