Panola Rd at I-20 from Fairington Rd to Snafinger Woods Drive Interchange Improvements

Project ID: 0002868
Construction Year: 2025
State: GA Counties: Dekalb

Entity: Georgia Department of Transportation

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is undertaking a significant project to improve traffic flow and enhance safety at the Panola Road and I-20 Interchange in DeKalb County. The plan involves converting the existing urban diamond interchange into a more efficient Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI).

This I-20 interchange reconstruction will also include a full bridge replacement over the interstate. The new Panola Road will be a modern urban section, featuring two to three 12-foot lanes with a 20-foot raised concrete median, as well as dedicated 4-foot bike lanes and 10-foot shoulders with curbs and sidewalks. To further ease congestion, the project will add new turn lanes and other improvements at multiple intersections within the project limits. This investment is aimed at creating a more streamlined and safer travel experience for both drivers and non-motorized users. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
