Bridge Replacement SR 128 at Patsiliga Creek

Project ID: 0015542

Construction Year: 2027
State: GA Counties: Taylor

Entity: Georgia Department of Transportation

The State Route 136 bridge over Lookout Creek (ID 083-0014-0) is recommended for replacement. Built in 1940 and widened in 1988, the bridge's original H-15 truck design load is below current standards.

Although the bridge is in satisfactory condition overall, its foundations are scour critical because their elevations are unknown. The deck is in fair condition with moderate cracking and surface abrasion. While the rest of the bridge is in good to satisfactory condition, it shows minor signs of deterioration like spalling and cracking. Given its age, outdated design, and scour critical status, a full replacement is the best course of action.

Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
