This project, known as the Big Ferguson Transmission Line Project, aims to strengthen the electric grid and increase capacity for customers' current and future power needs. The plan involves two key components: constructing a new 100-kilovolt (kV) transmission line and building a new substation. The Big Ferguson Substation will be situated at the intersection of Green Pond Road and South Carolina Highway 417, and the new transmission line will be built to connect this substation to the existing power network.
Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
