To increase traffic capacity and improve flow on US 401, a project is underway to widen a 0.6-mile stretch of the road.
The plan is to expand the section between West and East Allen Streets and Ten-Ten Road, changing it from a two-lane road to a six-lane road with a median divider. The project also includes adding extra left-turn lanes for both northbound and southbound traffic on US 401 at the intersection with Ten-Ten Road.
Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
