US 70 and SR 1711 (North Oak Forest Road) Intersection Improvements

Project ID: U6110
Construction Year: 2027
State: NC Counties: Wayne

Entity: North Carolina Department of Transportation

The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to improve the intersection of U.S. 70 and North Oak Forest Road (S.R. 1711) using an at-grade Reduced Conflict Intersection (RCI) design. Under this preferred plan, direct access from North Oak Forest Road to U.S. 70 will be converted to right-in, right-out movements only. Drivers wishing to turn left onto or across U.S. 70 will utilize signalized U-turn lanes installed both north and south of the main intersection. The project limits on North Oak Forest Road extend from south of the Summit Road/Commercial Drive intersection to the realigned Gateway Drive.

Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
