Sevier County SR-449 Extension

Project ID: 23002449074
Construction Year: 2028
State: TN Counties: Sevier

Entity: Tennessee Department of Transportation

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is undertaking a two-phase project to extend State Route 449 (Veterans Parkway) in Sevier County, aiming to improve travel options for both residents and visitors.

The first phase, initiated with partial funding from local stakeholders, will extend SR 449 from its current end point at State Route 35 to Robert Henderson Road.

The second phase, funded in Governor Bill Lee's Fiscal Year 2023 budget, will continue the extension approximately 4.5 miles from Robert Henderson Road to Gists Creek Road. Both segments of this expansion will feature four 12-foot travel lanes, with added shoulders and turn lanes as needed to accommodate traffic flow.

Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.

Should you be impacted by this project, we can help. If you are a landowner in the footprint of this project and would like assistance with this process or would like more information regarding your rights relative to eminent domain, condemnation, or easements, please contact us today.
