Improvements to SR 5 at CR 174/Dorset Shoals Road and at CR 198/Banks Mills Road/Pool Road

In Douglas County, approximately four miles south of Douglasville, a project is underway to construct a new four-legged, hybrid roundabout. This roundabout will connect State Route (SR) 5 (both northbound and southbound lanes), Banks Mill Road, and Pool Road.
In addition, the project will add a new southbound left-turn lane from SR 5 onto Big A Road. A new intersection for Dorsett Shoals Road will also be constructed, connecting with SR 5 about 200 feet north of the proposed roundabout.
Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
